Introducing Mervin

One of the most useful, recognizable objects in my patch is Mervin. Mervin started out as a sad little wooden critter, partially hidden in the clearance rack at A.C. Moore:

I scooped him up and rationalized decided that I could spiff him up with a bit of paint! After a little acrylic paint lovin', he transformed into this handsome devil:

Mervin currently houses my student name sticks. If you don't have a set of sticks, YOU SHOULD TOTALLY MAKE SOME! They are such an easy weekend project, and they make random selection a breeze! Mervin makes the cutest little stick receptacle, and my students think he's our class pet. I have no problem with that, since he is easy to care for and basically immortal ;)

  1. Welcome to blogging Kelsey. I hope you love it as much as I do. It has been so encouraging to me.

I LOVE Mervin. He is adorable and you did a great job helping him look even more handsome. We can always rationalize buying something for our classroom, right??? It IS our 2nd home. =)

Be sure and add a follow button when you get the chance. I would love to follow you. Hop over and visit when you get the chance.

    1. Just added the button! Thanks for the kind comment, SO nice to meet you! :) It is WAY too easy to justify spending money for classroom goodies...sometimes I have to remind myself that I still need to buy groceries ;)
